About

The KMA Policy Advocacy and Communications (PAC) Committee is one of the KMA standing committees dedicated to steering and advancing health policy and advocacy in Kenya. Through its LEAD DRIVE approach, the committee is committed to:

Lobbying: Engaging relevant stakeholders to influence healthcare related policies.
Educating: Informing KMA members and the general public on health policies.
Advising: Providing strategic guidance to KMA leadership related to healthcare policy and advocacy.
Developing: Coordinating and monitoring advocacy projects.
Driving Engagement: Involving members and stakeholders in policy and advocacy initiatives.
Responding: Addressing emerging policy issues.
Identifying: Highlighting key public policy priorities.
Voicing Advocacy: Representing societal healthcare needs.
Establishing Relations: Building positive community connections.

Our vision is to support a healthier Kenya where evidence-based policies and innovative solutions drive equitable access to quality healthcare for all.

Mission

We strive to empower healthcare professionals and members of the public, influence policy decisions, and foster a thriving healthcare ecosystem through strategic advocacy, knowledge sharing, and collaborative partnerships.

Objectives

  • Policy Champion: We advocate for policies that prioritize the health and well-being of Kenyans, including universal health coverage, equitable access to quality healthcare, and robust public health systems.
  • Knowledge Hub: We serve as a trusted source of information and expertise on healthcare issues, providing evidence-based insights to inform policy decisions and public discourse.
  • Capacity Builder: We empower healthcare professionals with the knowledge, skills, and tools to effectively engage in policy advocacy and public health initiatives.
  • Community Connector: We foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and the private sector, to advance shared health goals.
  • Digital Health Advocate: We promote the ethical and responsible use of digital health technologies to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
