National Governing Council RESOLUTION ON 48TH ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE & ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND THE KMA NATIONAL ELECTIONS.
The National Governing Council, at its Special Meeting on 23rd March 2020 deliberated upon several recommendations made by the KMA Trust Committee in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the government ban on public gatherings, and resolved as follows:
➢ That the 2020 Annual Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting be postponed till further notice with Kisii Division remaining as the host division, and further, that the NGC will convene to make a decision on the new dates of the ASC and AGM once the gathering restrictions due to COVID-19 are lifted.
➢ That the 2020 elections be postponed due to the raging COVID-19 pandemic, and that the Trust committee, within 2 weeks, consults with members, the candidates, and NEC on a new date for the elections, with guidance from the legal team.
➢ Further, that the Trust Committee shall then communicate the final recommendation concerning elections to the NGC for approval, and subsequently the NGC decision shall be conveyed to all members.
The National Executive Council shall keep you updated on the outcome of future NGC deliberations on these matters, and on our continuing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
