Managed Healthcare Committee
Mandate
To provide strategic advocacy on healthcare financing models, managed care frameworks, and insurance policy to advance equitable and sustainable health coverage in Kenya.
Objectives
- Build the capacity of KMA members on managed care systems and healthcare financing models.
- Engage payors, insurers and regulators on fair and timely reimbursement for medical services.
- Monitor and advise on the implementation of the Social Health Authority (SHA) and broader Universal Health Coverage (UHC) reforms.
- Develop KMA positions on managed healthcare policy and represent these to relevant stakeholders.
- Address member grievances relating to managed healthcare and insurance arrangements.
- Identify and pursue fundraising opportunities, including grants, partnerships, sponsorships and donor funding, for projects that align with the Committee's mandate.
