Planetary Health Committee
Mandate
To address the intersection of environmental sustainability and human health, recognising climate change as one of the greatest threats to public health in the 21st century.
Objectives
- Advocate for climate-sensitive health policies at national and county level.
- Build member awareness on the health impacts of environmental degradation and climate change.
- Position KMA as a contributor to global and national planetary health discourse.
- Promote sustainable practices within the health sector.
- As an Ad Hoc Committee, deliver on a defined scope of work and report on its findings and recommendations within the timeframe set by the National Governing Council.
- Identify and pursue fundraising opportunities, including grants, partnerships, sponsorships and donor funding, for projects that align with the Committee's mandate.
